App lock
The app lock screen appears when Lock Agentknock is selected and there is no authenticated session. It hides the main app content until authentication succeeds.
Select this mode during device setup or in Settings → Security and backup. The default mode, Rely on device lock, does not display this screen.
Unlocking
Section titled “Unlocking”Agentknock starts Android authentication when the lock screen opens or the app returns to the foreground while locked. You can also tap Unlock Agentknock to retry.
Use the biometric or screen-lock credential offered by Android. Successful authentication opens the app. Cancelling, failing, or being unable to start authentication leaves it locked and displays the available error. A notification cannot bypass this screen to reveal request details.
Agentknock has no separate password or recovery code for app lock. If Android reports that authentication is not configured or unavailable, resolve that condition in Android and retry.
When the app locks again
Section titled “When the app locks again”Authentication is reused while the app is in the foreground. After 15 seconds in the background, the session expires and the next visit requires authentication. Returning sooner keeps the session active. A new app process also starts without an authenticated session.
Sensitive values and sensitive editor drafts are cleared when the app enters the background, even during this grace period. Unlocking does not restore discarded drafts; see Security and backup.
Requests while locked
Section titled “Requests while locked”App lock does not disconnect the phone or pause background processing. Approval modes, AI review, and temporary access can still handle requests automatically. Requests that need your decision remain pending and can produce notifications.
To change the lock mode, unlock the app and open Security and backup. An existing authenticated session can authorize the change without another prompt.
