Factory reset
Open Settings → Factory reset Agentknock to permanently erase this installation and start setup again. The screen lists the affected data and requires an exact confirmation phrase before enabling the reset action.
What is erased
Section titled “What is erased”Factory reset clears all Agentknock app data on the phone:
- Device identity and encryption keys.
- Secrets and their stored values.
- Paired clients and requests.
- Audit log and settings.
Setup starts again with a new device identity and pairing address. Every client must pair again. The erased secret values cannot be recovered from this installation, and Android backups exclude the encryption keys.
Reset also asks the relay to delete the device registration. It does not stop automatic renewal; see Plan and billing to manage or cancel a recurring subscription. Resetting Agentknock does not revoke API tokens or SSH keys at the external services where they are valid.
Confirming the reset
Section titled “Confirming the reset”Enter RESET AGENTKNOCK in Confirmation phrase, matching capitalization and spaces exactly. Erase and reset Agentknock becomes enabled only when the phrase matches.
Tap the button to begin. While reset is working, the confirmation field, reset button, and Back action are unavailable. The app pauses request processing, attempts relay deletion, and, if deletion is confirmed, asks Android to clear its app data.
Relay deletion not confirmed
Section titled “Relay deletion not confirmed”If the relay deletion cannot be confirmed, the app asks again before erasing local data:
- Clear app data proceeds with local erasure even though the old device registration may remain on the relay.
- Cancel keeps local data and resumes normal request processing.
This can happen when the relay cannot be reached or the device credentials are unavailable. A local reset in this state is not confirmation of remote deletion.
If Android cannot clear the app data, Agentknock reports the failure and directs you to clear its storage from Android settings. A relay deletion already confirmed before that failure is not undone.
